I lost my good reading glasses :(

I bought a magnifying glass to lay on my book, when also wearing my old / weaker glasses.

It's working OK but I can't read much at a time, because I stim too much to hold the magnifier. :(

Unsafe at Any Speed (famed consumer advocate Ralph Nader's 1965 classic about how certain cars were made to cause injuries and death on the highways, like the Chevrolet Corvair, for one); this copy from 1966

Naisten työt: pitkiä päiviä, arkisia askareita by Sirkka-Liisa Ranta

Literally translates to Women's work: long days, everyday chores. It tells about the lives of average women in Finland from 1860 to 1960.

Cthulhu: The Mythos And Kindred Horrors, by Robert E. Howard.

An anthology of Howard's short horror fiction, including those inspired by his friend and fellow pulp writer, H.P. Lovecraft. I used to own this book, and just got a new/used copy from Ebay in the mail.

Love that book. Picture This by Heller is also good, though not quite as, I think.

I actually liked it.

It's a popular science book, so the author doesn't exactly throw Einstein's field equations in your face and expect you to understand them. It also gives a nice overview over the history of astronomy.

It was also fairly even-handed when it comes to alternative theories (dark matter vs. modified gravity), although the author has little sympathy for explanations based on purely theoretical string theory.

Anyway, I just bought a book about particle physics for my next reading... Time to go from the very, very, very big stuff in physics to the very, very, very small stuff in physics.

South Of No North, by Charles Bukowski.

Birthday present from my wife. Anthology of some of Bukowski's short fiction. So far a riot!
