Devo was the first band that made me feel like someone else understood what it felt like to be born on the wrong planet. Just as William S. Burroughs had the Johnsons versus the s***s, so Devo had the Smart Patrol versus the Spuds.

I made a Devo - Jocko Homo referrence on facebook two weeks ago. Sadly it went over everyones head. I found a picture of Batman entering the mens bathroom and in the text bubble he was saying was -- "Are we not men" and I posted the picture and added the text we are Devo in the post and no one got it and I cried a little inside.

I absolutely love those guys! They were big back when I was in high school, but for some reason they hadn't caught fire with me. But today, they are absolutely one of my favorite groups. I especially like Whip It.
