The education and development children has been one of my biggest special interests for some years now, and I was very interested in reading about your experiences with, and observations of the children. I work with children who are a bit younger (preschoolers) but it was still interesting to read about how these school-age children interacted and responded to the world around them, and the people in their lives.
Incidentally, I was able to really picture some of the places you described, as I did my undergrad at Bennington :).

It's been such a long time since I worked with kids. It's next to impossible to work with them these days.

I've chronicled my experiences with chess club as well and I'm working on rewriting those.
