I just finished the Count of Monte Cristo on my kindle, started on holiday but it was so damn long I didn't finish it until several days after the holiday finished  . Gave a real feel of the early to mid 19th century in France, so that was interesting.

Gil's All Fright Diner.

A werewolf and a vampire while on a road trip stop off at an all night diner, to discover it's under attack by zombies. A genuine combination of horror and comedy.

I agree. I'm just about to be through the whole book (IOW, about to finish The Case of the Fiery Fingers).

Horns.

Ignatius Perrish, a year after he was accused of raping and murdering his girlfriend, awakes from a night of hard drinking to discover he has grown a set of horns out of his forehead. And to make matters worse, because of the horns, people are compelled to reveal their deepest, darkest secrets to him, which throws him into emotional turmoil.

Rereading "Shakespeare's Landlord" by Charlaine Harris, to look for autistic traits in the protagonist.
