I don't expect you to really comment on my art, because most of you hate it anyways, and just tell me its good to make me feel better. I hope you're happy.

Look at my sig for my deviantart page.

goodbye.

"most of you hate it"
honestly, if you are doing it, you are doing it because you love it, not because of other people's comments/opinions.

And in my comment in the "post your art" thread, I only told you to:
1.- make your own thread, as you post A LOT in the "post your art" thread, and
2.- be more conscious/aware of others, editing your posts to don't hoard/monopolize the art thread.

that's all, and good luck with your stuff :thumleft:

P.S.: When other people "attack" you, look for the positive thing that you can learn from it.
Because if someone criticizes you, it means that person took a step and made a comment about something that is wrong with you. You could live your entire life without knowing your errors, so, always look for what you can learn from criticism/"atacks".

take care.

I don't tell you I enjoy your art just to make you feel better - as I said before, your art is a window into your mind and heart, and I place great value in that. I think the pieces you create and the stories you make up for them are worth a lot more than fancy professional art that the creator didn't put their whole heart into.

Your passion for artwork and the criticism you receive really hits home with me - it reminds me a lot of myself and my own artwork. I understand how you feel. I know how badly it hurts to try to use artwork to tell your inner stories, only to get shot down by people who don't understand. I almost completely gave up drawing because of it, and I was miserable. I don't want you to make the same mistakes I made of giving up and destroying past artwork. Don't do those things; your artwork will always have value in someone's eyes.

I'll make you a deal: if you aren't comfortable sharing your artwork with DeviantArt and the rest of WP anymore, you can always send your artwork to me via PM. I genuinely want to see your drawings and hear all you have to say about the stories behind them. I love your inner world, Peter, and the depth and care you put into it inspires and encourages me in the creation of my own inner world.

I hope you take this message to heart. I know it won't take away the sting of other people's negative comments, but at least maybe it'll give you some encouragement.

I have seen many works posted by some very talented people on the art thread yet none of the technically stronger, more-polished work has inspired me as yours. Whatever you choose to do with it is up to you -- thanks for giving us a peek, however brief, into your strange and wonderful little world.

The only reason I post it in the artwork thread is because if I make my own thread for it, it will soon disappear.

I think your own thread is a good idea. It won't disappear because you'll keep adding to it.

Too bad they never have anything positive to say, it's always along the lines of "Your art sucks, you're a no talent hack, get another hobby." And it hurts it really does. It doesn't make me feel any better that when I do get criticized I don't know if it is an attack or not I've been burned by so many f*****g people that you have no clue. So don't tell me to just "live with it" Maybe since no one wants to teach me, I've had to do this myself.

I don't intend to preach, I'm telling you to live with it because that's life, you'll have to deal with it, and the only thing that matters is what you'll do about it, what matter is with what attitude you face life.

And change your attitude, that'll lead you nowhere.

That last one's canny, I don't like (but certainly do not hate!) the others.

And why is that?
