Yea, the acapella outro makes a good song, into a sublime one. It's one of my favorites, also apparently Paul Mcartney favorite song of all time.
I'm sure I've heard all the studio sessions, (probably a bootleg) like about 8 years ago. (When i was really into 60's music. I mean obsessively-ASD style) Pet Sounds, was a departure from the norm. Somewhat chaotic. The songs were sliced together, and the whole atmosphere was eccentric and experimental. A complete break from the early records, and conventional way of recording. This was 1965, beginning of the hippie movement, when acid was taking over L.A., so it probably had something to do with THAT. lol. A major cultural shift at the time. Beatles and Stones were biggest bands in Rock. I think they was tourin USA when Satisfaction became their big hit. Beatles of course were BIGGER THAN JESUS at the time. (Being hounded by the religious right for their brand of 'devil music,' like Elvis a decade previous.) Playing all the big venues. It was the british Invasion. Jim Morrison was on Venice beach, just forming the doors. (inspired by all this.) Elvis was stuck doing movies,and just being Elvis.

Brian Wilson was apparently inspired by rubber soul when making pet sounds. What he heard, changed his whole outlook.
Maybe the best song on the album, (hard decision to make. ) I away thought. Written by about Jane Asher.

Another great song from Paul. If you reverse the song, it has a hidden message in the hook (like stairway to heaven.)
Don't ask me how i know that. I was ASD level obsessed with the Beatles at one point. lol.
