Oh, Garbage. One of my very favorites. I've seen them twice. Shirley Manson stopped mid-song once and to get a dude kicked from the audience when he was starting s**t. It was amazing.

I saw The Cramps live. Lux Interior was wearing shiny black vinyl skintight pants and black stiletto heels and no shirt. The sweat had filled up inside his shoes. At some point during the show he took one of his shoes off and poured the sweat over his head. Poison Ivy was amazing on guitar. It was a raucous show!

I can't even begin to explain how completely jealous I am. The Cramps are one of my all-time favs. I tried so hard to be Poison Ivy when I was younger. Ah, to be 21 again with so much free time.

^ The show was at First Avenue in Minneapolis. For the cover song Surfin' Bird, which lasted probably ten minutes, Lux climbed on top of a huge stack of speakers on stage, laid on his back and alternated gyrating the air and fellating his microphone.

I'm not trying to make you jealous, MP, honest, but I saw Sonic Youth at First Avenue as well and it was awesome. It was probably 1992.

Legit crying about this and the Pixies (okay, just metaphorically crying).

I had tickets to see the Pixies and then couldn’t go. I’m still salty about it.

MP, don't feel too bad about missing that show. I know how you feel. I was 15 when Husker Du and the Replacements came to town and played the same night. A punk friend of mine had her Mom take her to the bar and the bar let them both in. I wanted SO BADLY to see that show but there was no chance in HELL that my parents would have taken me or would have let me go with my friend and her Mom. I was never able to see either band live and both were/are favorites of mine.

Aw man, that would have been a great show. :( I listened to those bands when I was 15 too. But I was 15 in 2005, soooo it didn’t quite work out for me either.
