Hi. Sorry to hog the music forums with my posting, but I need some advice. Its taken me about 4 years (intermittently) to write a concept album which in my eyes is self conscience and has the lyrics of mine basically whining and moaning about how music as well as society and the media in my opinion is pretty much falling to pieces. The advice im asking is what genre of music should I compose to fit around the lyrics? They sound punk, but I want to musically try something unique without citing influences etc. Thanks. :-)

Why not just create something your own instead of using a genre?

Could do, but it's a shame I can't sing. As much as I'd love to, as only I know how I want the lyrics to sound.

Do you have a singer?

Nope, it's just me. It sounds complex, but I'd like to sing my own words, as I'm the only one who knows how it'll sound, but I can't really sing. Are singing lessons really worth it?

I reckon if your lyrics have a negative slant then anything other than punk or grunge would sound odd. But you could try a deep bass sound; kind of like the old 80's acid house with a modern feel? I say that because I was a fan of it. And I think it would be cool to hear that style with some social comentary lyrics.
