Does anyone do parody songs here? I've written some on "geek themes". There's one song i'm writing, a parody of Gwen Stefani's "Hollaback Girl" about the GNAA and internet trolling.

Now I'm at a loss at how to record a parody (do you need special software? equipment?)

(If anyone want's me to post the lyrics so far, feel free to do so).

Weird Al Yankovic and Bob Rivers are good parodists.

Weird Al has a MySpace account and is more than happy to add people. :D

I heard a spoof of the Barney theme song. It goes something like this:

"I love you. You love me.
Let's hang Barney from a tree.
With a kick and a punch and a
Bullet to the head,
Now that purple freak is dead!"

Weird Al does not have a Myspace account. That's someone impersonating him. If you want his website: http://www.weirdal.com/.

Weird Al's funny. I also discovered a band called "Amateur Transplants" who were famous (for a while) with the infamous "The London Underground Song" which uses the tune of "Going Underground" by The Jam. They use the tune and sing funny songs, usually medical and hospital jokes. They also use another parodists songs who I think is called Tom Lehrer.

Here's their website:

Here's a wikipedia explanation:

There's a link to his myspace site on that link. I don't know how people can spoof the official music sites.

Zeromancer has a few great parody songs, like "Teenage recoil" or "Dr. Online."
