So I was watching this ice dancing video, and it was all Latin music. I like most of the songs in it, and I got the first 2 songs in the video, actually, but I can't find the rest. One I really want is what the Japanese competitors around 2:30 were dancing to.

Can anyone also point me to similar stuff as what's in this video?

Thanks.

Many of my favorite singers are Latin. They consist of Gloria Estefan, Pibull, Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, Ricky Martin, Carlos Santana, Daddy Yankee, Shakira and many more. Here are some songs that you might like.

Oh, I'm sorry, but some of that stuff turned me off from Spanish music, especially reggaeton and Pitbull. I guess I'm looking for like, more older Spanish music? Like more traditional stuff, you know?

Regardless, a few good links, I just downloaded "Bailamos," and both the Gloria Estefan songs you posted. Just stuff like Pitbull and Daddy Yankee, doesn't do it for me, at all.

I know loads of latino musicians. I suggest that you should listen to Arab Andalusian Music and Sephardic music as they are a forerunner of Latino music.

Hello MilleCouteaux,

And you could try Mercedes Sosa (for all publics) and Maria Helena Walsh, better known for her songs for children but her melodies are so pretty, even when one doesn't understand Spanish, that it doesn't really matter.

I quite like Santana, but I'd label him Hispanic rather than Spanish.

When I think of Spanish music I think of Rodrigo's Concierto De Aranjuez. 8)

It's probably not great to dance to though.

So sorry for the bit of a necropost, but I found today the "Mama Quiero" I was looking for in the ice dancing video. It's not by King Africa, it's by Lemon Popsicle, it's pretty sweet. One of the best feelings in the world is finding a song you've been looking for a long time. Unfortunately, I can't find the song on youtube. I found it on some random Russian mp3 site I go to. So if anyone on some strange chance wants a copy of the song in that video with the Japanese ice dancers or whatever, PM me.

Yay for finally finding a song.

Do you mean music in Spanish? Or music from Spain?

For music in Spanish look up Julio Iglesias. He has a son who is also a singer, Enrique Iglesias, but I don't know that much about his music.
