I've heard some of his stuff; I like what I heard, but because I haven't listened to tons of it, I can't say I "love" it.

That's awesome :) I'm the only fan I know. My favorite song of his is 4.

It's really sad how he got his name actually. The "Aphex" is from the fact that he uses Aphex equipment to make his music. The "Twin" part is in memory of his twin brother who died

Who else here is aware of James (Aphex) ability to compose in his sleep? Anyone else here ever navigate their sleep state, creating order out of passionate REM sleep chaos..?

Found this topic. Just wanted to say that he either is extremely intelligent, or he has Aspergers, which nonetheless are the same thing.

He's someone I appreciate from time to time in doses, and it's clear that he's dripping talent almost without effort it's just that a lot of it tends to be (for me at least) a bit more chaotic than musical.

My first brush with him was Come To Daddy and I grabbed that EP. My friends and I also had sort of a shared experience watching the video for Windowlicker so that was kind of 'on the in' with us. The other thing, on Drukqs there's Avril 14th which is really fun to watch harp and piano players on Youtube cover, and T69 Collapse with the video is a nice watch but - not something I'd chase after a lot.

Oh yeah... there's also the video for Rubber Johnny, that's pretty epic.

I really liked Windowlicker when it came out. The b-side was good too. All the other stuff I've heard is a bit clinical for my tastes. Can't find a way in.

I mostly listen to his ambient stuff. Ambient Works Vol II is classic. I haven't listened to him in years to be honest. Went through a real heavy phase of binge listening to Aphex, Boards of Canada, and older Oneohtrix Point Never several years ago. Actually...I need to give Vol II a spin again. Been awhile..
