Any thoughts on Pantera? Some hate them for their simple rhythm guitar, but I think they use every instrument to amazing effect and have meaningful lyrics most of the time. DImebag is probably one of the ebst shredders because he doesn't show off and they actually use their bassist well unlike 90% of most metal bands.

Elitists seem tor eally hate them though and elan more towards Damageplan. I like them both, but for different reasons, and both vocalists have some styles that can bug me at times.

I haven't listened to much Damageplan. I do like Pantera, though. I don't know anyone, personally, who hates them. I do like Lamb of God a lot more, though. Same sub-genre (groove metal), but I like their sound, as a whole, more than Pantera. IDK I guess that doesn't really answer your question.

I gotta say, I enjoy them a bit. Back when I was younger and more into metal and rock, I'd listen to them quite a bit, didn't have any albums or anything, but yeah. I'd say Pantera is sorta underrated, and versus Metallica, they blow Metallica out of the water. Maddox was a big Pantera fan, too. But yeah, I gotta say, I do like them. Now I'm listening to a few songs by them again due to you making this thread.

The lead singer for SJR is Phil Anselmno. the same guy who sings for pantera. Phil has alot of side projects, his best of wich he did is, is DOWN

SJR suck.

Pantera Is one of the best metal bands in the world. My favorite album they did is, the great southern trendkill. but eveything they did was top notch.

I can listen to it all day long
