The music that defines me is punk rock, hardcore, grunge, Riot Grrrl... anything angry, rebellious and pissed-off!

Can't Find My Way Home by Blind Faith (1969)
One of the saddest songs I have ever heard. I know Steve Winwood wrote it about a friend who was addicted to drugs but, I can relate to the lyrics in the song so much. To me, they also speak to someone who desperately wants to be in a relationship but never will. How Soon Is Now? by The Smiths is also a song that I can 100% relate to. Like one of the previous posters said, that song was written for me.

You're not. Ten years ago, the whole album was a metaphor for my life. I had my room decorated in it-- quotes written on blank white note cards and plastered to the walls in a masonry pattern. Lots of the quotes were, natch, from The Wall.

"All alone, or in twos, the ones who really love you march up and down outside the wall. Some hand in hand, or gathered together in bands, the bleeding hearts and the artists make their stand. And when they've given you their all, some stagger and fall-- after all, it's not easy banging your heart against some mad bugger's wall."

That's a pretty happy ending, if you read it right.

Mine?? Soul Asylum-- most of the albums Grave Dancers Union and Let Your Dim Light Shine. Especially "Without A Trace," "Promises Broken," and "I Did My Best."

I could do this for hours, especially one-finger typing (lol). That's not going to get my housework done or my unruly three-year-old dealt with.

This is a Christmas song, but I find that the lyrics in the first two verses reflect my feelings about growing up and leaving childhood behind:

In many cases the entire song applies to me, but I'll just list the most poignant lines since I have a bunch.
