I relate to this song so much because I feel like because I am different from everyone else, far from being normal that I'm against the world. You'd have to listen to the song to really understand it.

Well can you embed it then?

The reason I only really want songs more directly related to disability is because they are a LOT more rare than songs that can be loosely interpreted as relating to disability.

I always thought this song fit those with psychosis/Schizophrenia/bipolar disorder. I guess it could fit people with a disability.

I was originally going to post this song, but you beat me to it. I identify with it so much that it makes me cry sometimes.
I was going to post this song too 8O

Um....lyrics please?

Though the song and vocal style do convey a lot of pure emotion that I can see is related to the topic at hand.

i consider this song to be about a low functioning autistic man.

this is about bipolar disorder.

this reminds me in a humerus way of how i was in my early 20's before i gave up trying to socialize.

i have a friend called "sonia" who likes me, and she says this song describes me in her opinion.

Well, this one is pretty relatable to people with Autism, and possibly anyone with a disability. You'd be surprised.

I think this is definatly about Mental Health Issues...however as the song suggest, sometimes you wonder who really has the "issue" Of course It's by the incomparable Peter Gabriel

"Wallflower"

6x6 - from wall to wall
Shutters on the windows, no light at all
Damp on the floor you got damp in the bed
They're trying to get you crazy - get you out of your head
They feed you scraps and they feed you lies
To lower your defences, no compromise
Nothing you can do, the day can be long
Your mind is working overtime, your body's not too strong

Hold on, hold on
They put you in a box so you can't get heard
Let your spirit stay unbroken, may you not be deterred

Hold on, you have gambled with your own life
And you face the night alone
While the builders of the cages
They sleep with bullets, bars and stone
They do not see your road to freedom
That you build with flesh and bone

They take you out - the light burns your eyes
To the talking room - it's no surprise
Loaded questions from clean white coats
Their eyes are all as hidden as their Hippocratic Oath
They tell you - how to behave, behave as their guest
You want to resist them, you do your best
They take you to your limits, they take you beyond
For all that they are doing there's no way to respond

Hold on, hold on
They put you in a box so you can't get heard
Let your spirit stay unbroken, may you not be deterred

Hold on, you have gambled with your own life
And you face the night alone
While the builders of the cages
They sleep with bullets, bars and stone
They do not see your road to freedom
That you build with flesh and bone

Though you may disappear, you're not forgotten here
And I will say to you, I will do what I can do

You may disappear, you're not forgotten here
And I will say to you, I will do what I can do
And I will do what I can do
And I will do what I can do

I'm not looking for relatable, I'm looking for songs about disability. Check out the two Derpy songs in the OP, that's about as open loosely related as I want to get. Some of about non-conformity are everywhere.

This isn't about disability, but the lyrics in the verses do sound very much like Aspergers. Or any kind of mental disorder.

There are quite a lot of Pink Floyd songs about Syd Barrett's illness.

Also the "Quadrophenia" album by The Who is about a fictional mental illness (four-way split personality disorder).

Of course, Pink Floyd.

I knew what epilepsy was since I was a young child (there was a Pittsburgh Steelers offensive lineman in American football who was epileptic) but whenever I think of epilepsy, I think of this song. If I'm not mistaken, this was the first JD song I had ever heard (heard it at age 14)...

Ian Curtis wrote this song about a young girl he helped find a job when he was a social worker for disabled youths who later died of a grand mal siezure. Ian Curtis later would suffer from epilepsy until he committed suicide.

Anywho, a song about epilepsy.
