Whenever I hear the Prelude in C#m of Rachmaninoff's Music Fantasies, Op. 2, No. 2 I get a sense of foreboding, like a dark cloud is encroaching over my neighbourhood and something bad is going to happen.

The only thing I can think of recently that did this for me, they have those all music television channels and Christmas music was on. It was some type of post-modernist take on hark hear the bells but on these things that sounded like glass bubbles if that makes any sense? It was really chimey, off key, and just weird. It gave me the odd feeling that the cough-syrup dimension was launching an invasion of our world. :lol:

Im not easily scared by music. Things that other people find creepy I mostly find to be mysterious and pretty. But Scott Walker's newer music really does unnerve me. I think its because of the unrelenting tension and the rhythms that doesnt make sense. And at other parts its just really ugly.
