I was wondering if anyone here might happen to love film music, I caught the film music bug with John Williams and his score to "Star Wars" when I was only 6 years old. I love most of his scores. I also like some scores by Jerry Goldsmith, some from Alan Silvestri, some from James Horner, some from John Ottman, and so on. I just love listening to it.

I'll take it further... library music in low-budget films. Andy Milligan movies use library music, most of the Poverty Row movies use library music, Doris Wishman movies, etc... I also like Hoyt Curtain's score for Mesa of Lost Women/Jail Bait.

I only know John Ottman from The Usual Suspects. That was an interesting score.

I like Danny Elfman and Carter Burwell. Also, scores that Howard Shore contributes to David Cronenberg movies. I was recently listening to clips from COSMOPOLIS.

Also, big fan of Angelo Badalamenti. I really got into his work from Mulholland Drive.

I also like M83's contribution to the Oblivion score.

oh god... from when i was little... often the score to a film meant more than the movie. about 14 years old, i sort of gave up listening to movie scores because i wanted to fit in with other kids who didn't like music that was "weird". but i ended up listening to weird stuff anyway, even though it wasn't film scores...

for the record, my favorite film score is the accompaniment to the movie "Amarcord", arranged by Nino Rota. here's a sample of one of my favorite tracks:

"Tutti a Vedere il Rex"

I particulary like 3 movie soundtracks:

- Solaris (Cliff Martinez)
- The Piano (Michael Nyman)
- Inception

Jonny Greenwood's scores (particularly for The Master and There Will Be Blood) are excellent.

I like the original songs by Lana Del Rey, Florence Welch, the xx and Sia Furler for the upcoming film adaptation of the Great Gatsby, which I'd like to see.

Howard Shore's soundtracks for the LOTR trilogy remains my all-time favourite. :)

ugh, Good Bye Lenin is a pro-communist, anti-modern piece of garbage. the soundtrack is nice, though.

I love classical music and some great composers have done film music -- Shostakovich, Copland, Prokofiev. Recently, I've become a big fan of Dario Marianelli. He did the music for Jane Eyre and Atonement. His music is understated, haunting, beautiful.

I love film music, too.
My favourite composer is Danny Elfman. But I also like other soundtracks, for example the soundtrack from Lord of the rings and Pirates of the caribbean.

Danny Elfman is awesome! He probably has Asperger's, at least according to everything I've read about him.

Let's see how many of you have seen this movie:

Seriously though, that is one of my favorites. Some of my other favorite movie themes are "Requiem for a Dream" (haven't even seen it though), "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly," and "Kill Bill" (even though it apparently was originally from a Japanese film).

Yes, The Good The Bad and The Ugly! Actualy there are more of those spagheti westerns that have a good soundtrack.

I forgot Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.
