my son loved the fairground organ when 2-3 years old, at that age it's magic, no matter what song,
once my mother brought him a cassette with tirol music

I think your son was gutsier than me, at that age I would've run screaming away from all that noise, my musical brain did not develop until my teens.

Had to go with "Meh" as it could have been so much better, a bit too much, some sections too loud in comparison.

I do appreciate yours and it takes me back to the time I worked on a funfair...

So, closer to this?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wd6qZS1_1aU
e.g. something a little more stripped down, just the essentials so that its not overpowered, it keeps its delicacy.

I can see the style where yours came from but for me it was a little too clashy, which was sort of obvious by the way it distorted on my tinny little laptop speakers.

I realised that your version didn't make me tingle at all!?

This one made me smile most due to its visual spectacle

the liturgical organ fit it to a tee! :o I like all kinds of organ- Hammond, Wurlitzer theatrical pipe organs in all their brassy technicolor, liturgical organs in all their regal splendor. the Hammond is the prince of organs, the liturgical the queen and the Wurlitzer the king. and those triple-threat brass players were the cat's meow :cat: now getta load of this-

lol, that's nice and it gave me the tingle.

Earlier I went looking for a "chapala", I could swear it was the organ thing we had on a certain funfair (it was a Russian family that one), but I couldn't find anything along the lines of that name! Do you have any idea?

It is incredibly great! Too bad Freddy Mercury isn't around to appreciate it.

I wonder if he, as a child, was exposed to church organ during religious services? some of those melodies of his suggest that he was.

Mebe so. I know his family was Persian (what Iranian Americans call themselves), so I don't know what religious tradition - if any - he had been raised in.
