Jeremy by Pearl Jam. Still get goose bumps today like when it first came out on MTV.

Okay, so because of the choice of key and even the freaking chords and progressions used, this totally reminded me of a song I love from that same era:

8O

For a long time I resisted listening to the Disturbed cover of The Sound of Silence, because I normally don't like remakes of classic songs. But the Disturbed version is actually quite good and I have been listening to it almost constantly.

Third Eye by Tool. Awesome yet very dark and trippy.

It conveys SO much emotion in the lyrics later in the song, but the beginning is a quote by a famous comedian.

I actually found myself strangely interested in their covers of Land Of Confusion and Shout (known as Shout 2000).

A solid suggestion from a co-worker. I've listened to this song 5 times today.
