I've been writing poems for awhile now.
I'd like to post a few.

Here's one:

Rules:

Rules, rules, more rules
I get so tired of rules.
It's so tiring...
To hear of the next big thing,
To hear of the next big swing,
To understand everything,
Which is seemingly impossible.
It is impossible.
Rules, rules, and more rules.
The more we know,
The more our rulers inflict
More, more, more rules
For business!

The Cardinal and the Blue Jay

I am the gentle cardinal
With feathers as red as Christ's blood
I sing my cheerful song
As I inspire the world with love

I am the energetic blue jay
With feathers as blue as the sky or sea
I defend my nests very proudly
Fighting all who come to provoke me

A coat of blue, or a coat of red
Both our beaks are hard and sharp
Until after the war, once we are both dead
Our songs replaced by an angel's harp

Yeah, that's cool. I was wondering if others would post any poetry too.

No because publishing on an open forum counts as publishing as far as a lot of magazines or ezines etc are concerned and I'd rather be traditionally published than put stuff up online like that.

Good luck to people who do want to do so, just making people aware of the risks.

I know it's daft cos you think an anonymous forum would be an ok place to post, but often editors will google a line or so from the poem to see if it's available anywhere else before they make a decision to publish or not.

I did not know that about editors. I write so much that I don't really care about being published. But, if I was wanting to or anyone else is, then thanks letting us know.

Whelp I will not post my poetry online anymore. Thanks for the heads up! :)
