The future was Deco...

What happened to Art Deco? I see it was once how people envisioned the future, then its popularity faded away at some point. I mostly like the architecture, but I also enjoy some of the artwork. One article I read online attributed its fall to the motor vehicle, I can't recall how. Another publication I read online theorized that it was because Art Deco was of a transitional phase, one of which involved the move away from the hands of a craftsman to the talons of a machine.

Then later would come Atomic Age and how people then envisioned the future, which to me looks radically different from Art Deco.

I love out of date ideas of the future. There is a good film called Metropolis that has beautiful imagery in it

And also things to come has some very groovy imagery in it
