I'm posting this because he was my hero. This thread is dedicated to him and his music. He was a secret philanthropist, and even worked anonymously in a homeless shelter. Here's a clip from the This Morning Show where he tried to donate anonymously. I remember watching it live. Skip to 42 seconds in:

Too complicated to quote here, but it's a list of generous things he's done: https://metro.co.uk/2016/12/26/from-ran ... s-6345089/

I was really sad when he and Prince died. A lot of youtube comments showed wide swaths paying homage and respect. George's best IMO:

Elton pays tribute to George in his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour. I can't find a clip right now from the shows I've seen, but this one is really pretty. It's pre-FYBR.

I love the duet they did together on stage not long before GM died - Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me - incredibly moving performances.

I appreciate the replies, but, I'd much rather see content by George Michael himself, or people talking about the things he's done. That was the point of this thread. Not about anyone else or songs anyone else has done. I'm sorry if I didn't make that clear.

I need this to be entirely about George Michael. It feels reading the replies is like opening a sweet/candy bar wrapper to reveal nothing. :(

I mean, the first reply is all about Prince, and the Elton John videos are a tribute, again not featuring George Michael in the videos. Anyone can do a tribute...

I should've clarified that I was sad when both of them died. But when George died, all the comments in George's YT videos were covered with sadness, shock, appreciation for his musical genius that crossed all ages and groups of people. We loved him. I posted my favorite George Michael song, "Praying for Time" below the comment. Happy new year.

Hate to dig up an old thread, but I always have a soft spot for him.

Was gutted to hear his passing, and felt sorry for the persistent harrassment he received from the press.

Here's a couple of my favourites:

Was sorry to hear of his passing back when it happened. I thought he was a great artists. Faith was IMHO a tremendously good song, and of course Careless Whisper is timeless. Also the bit he did for the Little Britain charity special was bloody awesome.

On christmas eve 2016, my mom and I were talking about how bad Wham's version of "last christmas" is. I will always regret that.
