I did say LOTR was a re-reading Namiko... I re-read it about once a year lol

I like The Silmarillion. It is written in a more narrative mythological style, but I like it. Unfinished Tales is an interesting read too, as regards Numenor in particular.

Just read Vernon God Little, which was entertaining.

Currently reading A Nice Cup Of Tea And A Sit Down, a very amusing exploration of the importance of, well a nice cup of tea and a sit down, in British culture. Its a must read if you like your biscuits.

I'm into revenge themed works of late so of course, I'm re-reading Moby Dick.

I just finished Jurassic Park and The Lost World, plus a couple Dinotopia digest novels. I'm waiting for the library to get the latest Erin Hunter Warriors book from the interlibrary loan system.

Just finished Northern Lights by Philip Pullman, starting Kafka On The Shore by Haruki Murakami.

Hmm, if this list also include non-fiction, then I forgot to mention that I am reading The Making of Ghosthunter by Iam Lewis and the essays of Eisenstein: Volume 2: Towards a Theory of Montage. I recommend any aspiring filmmaker to have a look at them because it's changed my views of direction somewhat.

I am currently reading Oliver Sacks' book, The Man Who Mistook his Wife for a Hat. It's great.

Next I'll probably start reading The Man Who Tasted Shapes by Richard E. Cytowic. It's mainly about a guy with Synesthesia. But it also looks like it covers some basics on Synesthesia as well.

And after that (or maybe even before if it arrives in time), I'll be reading Oliver Sacks' book, Awakenings.

I'm switching between a few:
Stephen King - Bag of Bones (this turned out to be nine bajillion pages of melodramatic garbage, but I'm determined to finish it)
The Complete Short Stories of Ernest Hemingway (still working on this one)
Ray Bradbury - Long After Midnight (the most brilliant short story collection I've ever read)

And the absurdly long queue for later:
Neil Gaiman - Neverwhere (I've heard good things and decided to check this Gaiman fellow out)
Stephen King - The Dark Tower series (again)
Ernest Hemingway - The Sun Also Rises (Ern has yet to let me down)
Stephen King - Nightmares and Dreamscapes (the only King short story collection I haven't read)
Neal Stephenson - Snow Crash (I generally don't like scifi, but maybe that'll change)

This is usually the case: I start reading a book in a frenzy, getting half through it I find another book that I can't put down, then another one and so on until I have a stack of unfinished ones. Sigh... and also, they mostly have references to other books I have to read to understand the reasoning thoroughly in one, so one book can turn into half a library if I'm really unlucky. =)

I am in the midst of reading:

1. The Psychology GRE Study Guide and Practice Book (no sense in not starting early, eh?)
2. The True Story of the Elephant Man
3. Understanding Aphasia

- Kiln People by David Brin
- Introducing Romanticism (from the Introducing... series, which are some pretty good little books actually)

I'm almost done with the Brin, and after that I'm going to read Philip K Dick's The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch. I love A Scanner Darkly - it's probably my favorite by him (oh and I'm dreading the upcoming film version). The Divine Invasion was also excellent, and very funny.

I'm also working my way through:

- Absalom, Absalom! by William Faulkner
- the last Harry Potter
- The Unconsoled by Kazou Ishiguro. I like Ishiguro a lot - I'm not trying to be pretentious by reading him. I actually find his writing very engaging, even though many people just collapse in bored numbeness by the end of the first chapter. Oh well. I feel that way about Ayn Rand, and people just eat up that wooden crap like it is literary caviar. Ishiguro's a philosophical writer who can write artistically and without sounding like a philosopher. His An Artist of the Floating World is one of my favorite novels.

I just recently reread Lewis Carroll's Alice books, and will reread his Symbolic Logic, just as soon as I find my copy. LOL. Until then I'm reading some of Carroll's poetry.
