Any fans of psychedelia here? I mean anything, psychedelic rock, trance, video, people (Tim Leary, Terrence McKenna) art etc.

Yes I like psychedelic things-Pink Floyd was excellent for their sonic explorations and of course being on the autistic spectrum-love spinning things.

I saw the movie Enter the Void that was kind of interesting if a bit long.

Not sure if it's exactly Psychedelic but I liked The Fountain. It's certainly surreal.


I also like the artwork of Alex Grey. Or some of his influences on the band Tool.

I think that was one of the very few pieces the Who ever did that was psychedelic in any way. They kinda rebelled against that stuff.

But there you go.

john dies a the end is a wonderfully trippy horrifying nightmare. a tentacle monster claws off a guys hand attaches it to the end up of his hand then blows off that guys head with the gun that was in his hand at point blank range. what's even better is the group doing it made the zombies to where they could be as cinematic as possible so it would cause mass panic the real danger, and gain control over the world.

I need to ask david wong if he has actually tried any psychedelics.

I highly recommend listening to or reading john dies at the end, and this book is full of spiders. one of the best books series I've ever read.

This is the only recent psychedelic film I can think of. Based on the Futurological Congress by Stanslaw Lem (Solaris). I think its future is very plausible. I liked it a lot.

The illuminatus trilogy, especially the first book, is structured around aspects of LSD perception. One of the narrators represents the self aware hive mind of other characters in the series. These books are full of useful information.

Yes, most definitely. I am interested in fractal art, which is very psychedelic and were in fact created during the sixties when LSD was also inspiring very fractal art. The Holy Mountain is also a fantastic psychedelic film that is full of religious and mystical imagery and symbolism, which at times can be hard to digest. Alex Grey is fantastic (he apparently does most of his paintings after dmt trip though must be an amazing artist anyway). Jefferson Airplane are a great band and of course Jimi Hendrix was the utter master. His guitar is like a drug in itself.

Terrance Mckenna was an amazing man. He was very charismatic and had an incredible ability to talk for hours. His ability to retain information was incredible. Saying that though, I think most of his theories about how human civilization kicked off because of primates eating mushrooms is rather flawed.

I'm interested in the hippie culture of the 60's. I like tye dye and psychedelic music.
