This is another band I really like right now. They're called Beach House. They kinda remind me of the Cocteau Twins and Mazzy Star. This song's called "Heart of Chambers" pretty nice stuff.

that was alright. it reminded me a bit of The Fiery Furnaces, but way more subdued. seems like the kind of thing that al the hipsters would latch onto though. not that that would stop me from listening to it, but i just get really tired of the 'bandwagon-ism' that exists in "indie" circles now.... especially if i'm accused of it when i've started listening to a band of my own volition.

You got the "hipsters love Beach House all of a sudden" thing down cold. The band is huge in indie circles like Battles, Animal Collective, Rilo Kiley and LCD Soundsystem were last year (and still are). Beach House, Menomena, She & Him, Vampire Weekend and Tapes 'n Tapes are this year's "hipster obsession bands". These bands are latched onto because they're execellent, not because of the "bandwagon" which doesn't exist anymore. Vampire Weekend for instance. No one heard of them in December and then they suddenly had a Top 30 album, a Top 20 hit on Alternative radio and an appearance on Saturday Night Live. All things Hipsters should hate about a band, but hipsters still love them because their album is pretty much near perfect.
