I just finished this poem that I have to have for my Creative Writing class at 11 am. Up until thirty minutes ago I had no idea what to write. Suddenly it just hit me and before I knew it, it was finished. Anyway, here it is. The title is "Rain." It is written in a villanelle style.

As I sit and watch the rain
I think of what wasn't to be
It just reminds me of my pain

It doesn't take very much strain
to think of the things that ale me
as I sit and watch the rain

The thoughts running in my brain
are dreams of being free
from the confinement of my pain

Watching from beyond the pane
it is so easy to be
sitting here watching the rain

But I try to refrain
by thinking of what makes me happy
instead of thinking of the pain

I don't know, maybe I'm just vain
to think of what I wanted to be
As I sit and watch the rain
all I can think about is the pain

Thanks, not bad for thirty minutes of work eh?

I won't be getting a grade on it until Tuesday but I think I may start writing outside of class. I'm suddenly being bombarded with ideas. :)

That's great !

I'm SURE we all have an infinite world within us, an infinite creative potential, we "only" need to find a way to express it, showing it to other people. Our communication issues call for a different way of expressing ourselves (painting, writing, ecc.). Something similar (sudden and inspired creative writing) has happened to me too, and at the end I was SO happy.

Keep on posting !

Thanks you guys. :)

I'm finding my own live and inner feelings are giving me ideas. In fact, I have another one in mind. I wrote that one in a hurry so I'm going to take my time with this next one.

Got another poem for everyone. While writing these poems, I'm beginning to see how troubled I really am. But, my inner sorrow gives me a lot to write about. Maybe my next poem should be more optimistic. Anyway, this is another villanelle. I really like this style. :)

Escape

I am beginning to feel much doubt
that an escape will come my way.
If I could only find some way out.

Anytime I have any thought about
the possibility of getting away
is when I greatly begin to doubt.

I could certainly do without
shackles that force me to stay.
All I need is to find a way out.

Some days all I can do is shout
while in hell this which I stay.
The only thing left is doubt.

But if I sit here and pout
I won’t find it even if I pray.
There has to be a way out.

Maybe some day I’ll find a route
to get out of here. But this day
however, all I can feel is doubt
that I may never find a way out.

Nice poetry, Social! 8D

I really liked Escape.

Also, I've heard that getting dark thoughts out in poetry is a good thing. 8D My school counselor wasn't worried when I started writing about suicide, so... yeah.

Thanks Nairin :)

My inner turmoil gives me plenty to write about. With that said, here's another fresh off the press of my troubled mind and soul (Mind and Soul Press :P ). I think this one captures Asperger's in school and probably work too. This one is a Pantoum.

Alone

As I sit here alone,
Willing but unable,
I am like a stone
Without even a label.

Willing but unable
To connect with those
That have a label.
The solitude grows.

To connect with those
Around would be great.
But the solitude grows
As I accept my fate.

It would be so great
If I knew how it works.
But it must be my fate,
I have too many quirks.

I don’t know how it works
To be very well known.
I have too many quirks
So I sit here all alone.

Guess what ladies and gentlemen. I've got yet another poem for all of you. This time I've gone in a different direction. This one is a Shakespearean sonnet about my rebellious attitude towards conformity. While some forms of it are good, I don't approve of the way some people in today's world act, like being cruel to others for instance. However that kind of behavior seems to make someone "cool." If that is what it takes to be accepted, then they can have it.

Whoops, sorry to rant there. Here's the poem. :D

Maverick

I am the outsider that sticks out.
Everyone else is the same but I
Have never cared that much about
Conformity, I have never seen why.
They are all the same, they speak
In the same ways, and act in the
Same ways. Whatever they seek,
It isn’t something that I need to be.
I believe a person should just act
Like himself and not conform to
Those around him. This is a fact
That all should know to be true.
I will not fit into any sort of clique.
I am an outsider, I am the Maverick!

Luv the Maverick one. I know I can relate to that. I used to take pride in not really fitting in yet there were sacrifices in that as well so it was usually a two-way street for me.

Sometimes I wish our culture as far as social concerns go..wasn't so black and white with everything.

^ Yeah, it definitely has it's price. I realize that maybe conformity isn't such a bad thing, but I still have too much stubbornness to fit in and relate to others. Damn male pride!!

I got my grades on the two I turned in, he gave me a C on both. They may not be the best poems but I thought they were at least B material. 8O

Oh well, I guess it'll help me grow as a writer. I'm also thinking of doing some short films with my cousin and putting them on youtube. I'll be writing the script.

It's been a while, but I've got another poem for you guys. I think this one relates to a lot of us. Well, about all of mine do. I follow no particular style with this one. I find I write better if I format it the way I see fit. Enjoy. :D

Solitary Star

One night I was outisde, the sky was
Full of stars without a single cloud in
The sky. I looked and noticed a single
Start shining brightly, all by itself.

All of the other stars were together and
Similar, but this lone star off by itself
Shined differently, it seemed as it were
Excluded from the others because of it.

Yet, this star also shined proudly, like
It took pride in being different than the
Others. That star didn’t need to be like
The others to shine brightly like it did.

The star seemed to be telling the others
That it didn’t need to conform to the
Other stars, being itself was all that
Mattered. Maybe it chose to be alone.

That star, shining brightly and different,
It didn’t need the other stars to shine. It’s
Own light and beauty was enough. I’ll
Never forget the example that lone star set.
