As I suggested previously, people in the US have carried on as usual all along, or at least since the end of the initial surge last Summer, vaccines or no.
People carrying on in the US "as usual all along," isn't saying much for casual sex, on average, considering I've read an American statistic that says the average American adult has 8 sexual partners in their lifetime. So, the usual for Americans is not having casual sex. Well, on average, anyways. I'm sure American gays skew the statistics as outliers just like we do everywhere else in the world.

When I referred to carrying on I meant partying in bars and in private. Presumably those activities can lead to casual sex. In many parts of the US it's perfectly legal for as many people as physically possible to crowd into a bar without wearing masks and has been for most of the past year, so there won't be some massive spasm of wanton sexual activity if the pandemic ends.
As for comparing Americans to Canadians with respect to number of lifetime sex partners, you can consider this.

Also, due to obesity rates, intercourse = mission impossible for many Americans. Maybe they count bumping bellies?

Obesity does not preclude sex, by any means.....
I had a girlfriend once, back in the 80s, who weighed about 300 pounds....didn't stop us! 
And she didn't have to make "adjustments" whenever she wanted alternative methods of lovin'.
