Hey Tim, your a big Southpark fan. What's your opinion of the creators of Southpark's decision to censor the image of the Prophet Mohammad?

they showed him before, norwegian tv re-ran that show just days ago:

Why would I? They don't show Southpark here, noob!
Anyways, that has nothing to do with my question. WHY would they censor Mohammed, and NOT Jesus. They are essentially the same person in both religions, according to relevance.

Ugh, there's a major misunderstanding going on.
Were you being condescending when you asked me? Or were you genuinely wondering? It seemed like you were being condescending.

Yeah, that was condescension, from the looks of it.

As I understand it, Islam isn't so hot on iconography, so depictions of The Prophet Muhammad are regarded as blasphemous. >People have been killed for depicting him wrong.

They don't censor Jesus (or any of the other religious figures in the episodes) because defacing him, and depicting him doing awful things, and being otherwise mis-characterized and defaced, doesn't prompt >death threats.

What's most ironic is that the episode itself centered around the show's character's inability to allow Muhammad to be seen, for fear of getting bombed, even though they needed him for help with their problems. Meanwhile, Jesus, Buddha, Krishna, etc are freely depicted throughout the episode in all manner of defacement and blasphemy. The episode fulfilled it's own prophecy.

In the end, Muhammad was censored, as well as a short speech by a character at the end, who apparently spoke of what he learned about tolerance. The speech itself was deemed too inflammatory I guess.

The show creators are quite clever social commentators.

Yes he is but I think he missed that the show isn't even aired at all in your country.

Where is Mo but not jesus being censored, exactly? If I recall, he was even censored in USA though to be honest, I haven't seen the show in ages and I don't even remember whether it was solely in jest anyway.

edit: now i remember.... Sound is right! They did it on purpose.

Condescending people are (removed - M.)

Sound, that was an informative response. It's stupid how sensitive the muslims can get over things.

The constant flow of a/s/l on Omegle bothers me.
Really, I do not understand why one would do that.

Actually it's a little bit of both.
I mean it's almost the same as living in America and not knowing who the president is. One would figure that when you live in a country that you would atleast know abit about it.
So i was being abit condescending, and also genuinely wondering.

I probably know more about Muhammad and the Muslim's sensitivity to the subject more than you. The condescension was unnecessary, if you didn't phrase things in a confusing manner I would have gotten it.

Really? You know more than me?
Both my parents are Muslim and Turkish.
So i've had to hear lots of stuff when i was little, had to go to some practise thing where i learned stuff about the Quran for some time. ( and 1 year when i lived in belgium)
We have a house in a little turkish village to and etc.

But nah, i'm sure you know alot more than me right?
Cause you live in Istanbul, one of the biggest Cities in Turkey, where, yes, they are muslims, but there are alot more western people there.
But like i said, i am sure you know so much more about Muslims and Muhammed than i do, no joke, really, i'm sure you do.

Tias, you should relax instead of escalating.
When person A speaks pointedly at person B, person B is likely to defend themselves pointedly towards person A. Don't keep the ball rolling....
