Did you break your arm? So what, some people don't have arms.

Do you hate the way your friends sometimes mistreat you? So what, some people don't have friends.

Do you have to eat TV dinners for your dinner? So what, some people don't have dinner (or a TV.)

Do you see where I'm going with this?

To me everyday is the same. I won't love anyone more or less on Valentines day, Fathers day, Mothers day etc. Nor will i feel more or less lonely on a specific day. i don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. :?

Will do!! !

Personaly I've had enough girlfriends over the years. But they've always tried to change me into something else than me, which is pretty hard it seems :)

Last relationship lasted seven years and according to her explanation why we would break up now, was that she had been trying to save me. See, that's a girl with patience :)

Guess I'm unsaveable then. That stings a bit :(

Forget to ask her what it was she was trying to save me from. Maybe from her? I dunno.

Anyways good luck to you all finding that special one. You'll all be fine, never give up and have no fear :)

I forgot that's tomorrow... good thing I'm single.

All the heart decorations, discounts on chocolate, and jewelry adds over the intercom at the Fred Myer all suddenly make sense now. I just thought it was rather neat that nice chocolate was on sale since I've recently become depressed. The worst part is I'm serious, and apparently that numb to commercialism anymore >_>

The OP doesn't know how it's like to be young and single for so long time; nor we know how it's like to survive a famine.

Liar. I most certainly do.

I heard an excellent point on the radio this evening about all those who are single on Valentine's day and how to best cope with it: "At least you're not in a bad relationship like so many people are." So obvious, so simple, yet so profound. Seriously. Think about it - I'd waaaaaaay rather be as single as I am right now than be in a bad relationship of any kind.

Liar? Aren't you a mom? Weren't you married? Didn't you have many ex bfs at your youth? You probably experienced everything regarding relationships (the good and the bad); and even if you have experienced long time loneliness, it's not comparable with guys who are adults in their 30+ now and never even been kissed, you can't relate to their struggles.
Nor they can relate to yours, that was my whole point.

I am not belittling your struggles but you mocked the feelings of a lot of members with this thread.

Exactly! But don't let the basement dwellers hear you say that.

wow I had no idea that people took valentine's day so seriously. Not being sarcastic. I'm genuinely surprised.
