Good example. Prescott obviously has something to be able to get his way with his secretary. Even someone who is the subject of ridicule in the press for being an overweight and ugly buffoon with no redeeming features can have an affair with someone 20 years younger.

I'm not sure how attractive I am but I don't think I need to emolliate him, however there are probably things I could change for companionship given enough will power, some obvious some not so obvious.

Heh, we really should break down the anatomy of 'form' in personality though.

You see where two different people doing the same things will never add up the same way, some people can be completely inconsiderate and be magnets while others can try the whole gamit of everything and have absolute zero for luck (even when they decide to try not trying, doing well, being confident in who they are). All that does work rather independently of looks in terms of the 1 to 10 rating sense but looks in terms of who you look like you should be on first glance. I'm really starting to wonder if that isn't one of the biggest dictators of success in attraction at least in terms of women looking at guys. I hate to think that its the 'conformity is god' thing but it seems like whether your above the box, below the box, beside the box, none of that matters - its all bad.

lol 'emolliate' - To soften; to render effeminate. I wouldn't do that to Prescott surely 8O I meant emulate. Or was that immolate meaning to sacrifice, usually involving setting on fire? :?

It leaves me with the impression that looks are a higher priority on average for guys than for girls.

Actually, I DON'T disagree with this.
My experience is really the same.
Nonetheless, I've seen many males
that I've considered quite a bit MORE
attractive than their (female) partners.

For whatever reason.

Yeah, I can think of at least a handful of reasons why.

For one the guy might not be like minded in the sense of being what a 8,9, or 9.5 in guy looks is supposed to be in our society - if he doesn't fit the mold it means he'll have nothing but frustration and grief with women on that level of appearance.

Also, theres the fact that personality factors in a lot, ie. how much he and her see eye to eye. Guys may well mean more sexually driven and have a bit more push toward looks but I definitely have to agree that it doesn't erase the influence of all other factors, nor would looks and sex drive usually dominate a guy's choices.

I don't have sex with water fowl.

Unless they're cute.

No bad cal, leave the waterfowl alone :shameonyou: Of course I exclude Canada geese from the equation.

30% of swan couples are gay. Usually one of them attracts a female, mates with her then when she has laid, they shoo her away and share the incubation and parenting.

Canada geese are my most likely
conquests. Though swans have nice
necks too.

Ya, she could start "The Keep-Up-With-Me Exercise Program".

Honestly though, I believe women when they say that looks aren't that important.

I have learned that, with women, it is more of a "whole package" deal. They very much care about the sum total of a particular man, but not so much each individual part that makes up that total. Whereas, guys tend to zero-in on specific areas of women they're interested in. It's just a difference between the whole-oriented and part-oriented mentalities. I guess that's why Aspies are "overly male" -- because Aspies tend to notice the individual parts of something more than NTs do.

Well, you are far more likely to find an attractive woman w/a man whose looks are in a much lower league. It is quite rare to see an attractive man w/an ugly girl.

Uh, heh heh... not 'round here! Maybe Dallas is weird, but I see fat, homely women walking arm-in-arm with body-building men everywhere I go around this city. It drives me crazy imagining how this could be occuring so much. I fully expect to see the kind of couple you refer to -- the out-of-shape guy with the attractive female -- but I never see that anymore; just the opposite. :? Strange. I can't figure it out.

I know... it throws the whole system out of whack, for all kinds of different single-and-looking people. And lemme tell you, these body-building alpha males all look very satisfied with their mate choices. Totally blows society's expectations out of the water! :o
