You guys are getting me worried. I had no idea I qualify as a nerd and nobody ever bothered me about it - should I now expect to be chased by an angry mob carrying torches and forks? 8O

Nope, just studiously marginalized and ignored. Don't know if that involves pitchforks - what are the kids into these days?

Geeks, Nerds, and Dorks who think girls don't want you,

The dating scene is currently flooded with two types of men, "Mr. Let's Just Have Sex" and "Mr. Watch Me Watch Football". While these fellows are sometimes nice to look at, our conversations are vastly limited to topics such as "Was that good for you?" and "Do you need another beer?". We would much rather "ooo" and "ahhh" at the latest computer expo. We love to watch your science in action. Going on a historical adventure would be a real treat. Unfortunately, you are nowhere to be found. Have you ever wanted to be a hero? Here's a secret. It can happen outside of gaming! Be our knight in shining armor and save us from another date where our eyes glaze over! Geeks, Nerds, and Dorks of the world, leave your basements, shells, and other physical/metaphorical obstacles. Come find us!

- This campaign is endorsed by the Girls of Geeks Make Me Hot

Thanks for the pep talk, but unfortunately this sentiment is not common at all.

Lots of women will say they like N/G/Ds, but when questioned about who they actually date, the answer is invariably "Alphas".

I'm having too much fun being single to get tempted back into that misery...

Me too! High five? :D
I think I'm just not techy enough to be a geek. My boyfriend is a total computer geek though... he's actually teaching me some C# in my spare time. He has a very sexy brain. :)

Actually, I am sort of geeky - I'm handy with a soldering iron and can program a microcontroller. This test seems to be calibrated for software geeks rather than hardware geeks...

Oooh, I like that! I'm a hardware-type geek, too! I never thought of it that way...

Just took the test:

A lot of 'geek tests' do seem to depend entirely on your knowledge of computer software. As a bit of a science geek I do feel a little left out. :P

Now if only I could save my game in real life and reload if I screw up, that would be great. That's why I game so much: with enough patience, I have infinite attempts to get something right. In the real world, you screw up once, you're done...

And as much as I respect your opinions on the matter, I still have a hard time believing it. It's a hostile world out there, full of people ready to run me over. I want to be loved, not hated. Unfortunately, it seems the latter is more likely to occur if I leave my "other physical/metaphorical obstacles". Is there a way to know when it's safe to come out?

Bless you, dear!! :D

I'm thinking is must be the fact that I have no fashion sense - what do you think your problem is?
