Wow... this whole thread since the last time I logged on... just... TL:DR... something about obesity or something. Don't really care, probably doesn't have anything to do with me or my thoughts about anything relevant to my life.

BTW, if anyone's curious, got her number. Gonna try not to f**k this one up...

OK, never mind, I HAD to see where this whole ridiculous argument got started. My take on it, if anyone wants it... Boo is just expressing his experience with online dating. Everyone's going to have different experiences. Obviously, mine so far is pretty radically different than his. No reason to get pissy about it... I didn't even read any of page 5 of this thread hahaha

Yes and I just bet you're not overweight etc ie these aren't sensitive subjects for you

We can all think something's 'just a joke' or silly when it doesn't affect us personally

Everyone's got an Achilles Heel though so let's hear what yours is and press your buttons a few times and see how
blase you are about it

Come on, tell us what upsets you then we'll have a few jokes about it - all tongue in cheek of course!

That ad is a crass joke at the expense of an Aspie male stereotype

...and you've posted it on an Asperger board

So what's the story here? You look down on Aspie males like the male in that ad or what?

For a start, what in that video makes it an 'aspie male stereotype'. I never heard that aspie males are all bald, or that they all like 'modelling', or that they say they're into surfing, meaning online, instead of in the sea.

Secondly, I am not laughing at people's misfortunes, and neither is the video. IT is poking fun about people misrepresenting who they are. And personally, if one thinks it's ok to decieve another to get what they want, well then I think it's fair game (once again though you're taking the video far to seriously).

The point in the video is about people misrepresenting who they are. The guy in the video was "boring", but rather than be honest about it, he chose to try and hide it by showing a picture where he wasn't bald (according to the narrative) but it turns out the pictures old and he is bald. SO he intentionally misrepresented himself. And I think that's wrong, whoever is doing it. Whether it's an obese person, with carefully orchestrated pictures to hide their weight, or a bald man, with an old picture, or a hat to hide their baldness, or a bimbo in a bathing suit pretending that she's a playboy model, when actually they're just her friends amateur photos. If it's not the truth yes I am going to judge them. Not because they are bald, overweight, or not a model, but because they lied about who they are and I don't think deceiving others is a moral, or respectable thing to do. I"m not sure why you're trying to justify that kind of behaviour as if it's an ok thing to do and calling out anyone that doesn't think it's ok (sorry but deceptive behaviour is not something i personally condone) as judgemental and cruel.

So he's boring in your opinion?

You represent the woman in the advert basically, judging all men like him as boring

Hence he has to do something to try and change peoples' opinion of him

It seems it's fine for NTs to lie but no one probably on the autistic spectrum must do it

Is that avatar picture one of yourself?

I notice you don't want to reveal your Achilles heel either

I don't care if you read it or not; you seem rather a self-obsessed, up-yourself person so it makes perfect sense to me.

What tips would those be?

Don't dare be on the autistic spectrum or arrogant women who think far too much of themselves will find you incredibly boring?

I think you mean Yoga

I'll give you a tip

If any man chases after a woman with the attitude like the one in the advert it will end in tears as she's so arrogant
and conformist as regards what she finds interesting

no, he said Yoda, she assumed Yoga, the same mistake she made, you are doing.

He said modelling, she assumed something else, he meant trains, air plane

He said surfing... he didn't want to elaborate where exactly he surfs the internet :P

yes I understand the joke but there were the things he put on his profile then there was what they really meant

So if you want to follow the tips you'd be putting what he put on his profile, not what he really meant so you'd put Yoga not Yoda

If people like that advert they should watch Todd Solondz's latest film 'Dark Horse'

No he's not boring in my opinion hence the quotation marks. So no I don't represent the woman in the video. And you know what even if she did find him boring, so what. Boring is subjective, she is entitled to do so. Just because she found him boring doesn't mean the next person would.

I'm not sure why you're inferring from me or the advertisement that it's fine for NT's to lie and no one else. At no point is that implied in either what I said, or the video.

No the avatar picture is not of me.

I'm not ''revealing my achillies heel'' because it adds no value to the conversation. And at this point pretty sure nothing can add value to it. It's not an objective discussion, it's people trying to address subjective points that exist primarily in your mind. Neither of us are ever going to reach a consensus on this. I don't see any purpose in continuing to do that since from the outside looking in, it's completely illogical.

I knew you wouldn't reveal your Achilles heel - too sensitive a subject is it? not up for joking about as you think it's ok to joke about other subjects like obesity?

Double standards?

Couldn't you be accused of misrepresenting yourself to people on this forum by using a photo of a woman that isn't you?

Is she prettier than you?

Misrepresentation - just like you accused the man in the advert of doing

Misrepresentation is lying and it's wrong is what you said

Different when it's you though is it?
