I have a Thai wife, she is much younger than me, from Isaan in Eastern thailand.
As asperger without social skills, this is ideal. She is quiet and introvert like me.
I can recommand this to asperger men.
One thing: make it clear how much money you will send her family every month.

How much do you send every month? And, aren't there customary emergencies and other reasons to send more?

How did you meet each other?

I spent some time in Eastern Thailand a little over 20 years ago. Very nice ladies, indeed.

You've actually met her right? You're not just sending the money every month? She's really a she, right?

Even if all is as you've led us to believe, personally, I would be put off by the idea of paying for someone to be in a relationship with me. I could do that any time, even here, but I choose not to.

Don't knock it. I know 3 couples (thai woman) who are extremely satisfied with their decision. 2 of those couples have been married for about 15 years.

It is important for anyone contemplating such a move to understand that filial piety is very important in a lot of Asian countries. People want to give money to their parents, whether their parents need it or not. In many non-Asian countries, the expectations are exactly the opposite. Parents don't get a penny from their children, neither do they expect it. Hence, we need Social Security to support old people in the USA--in much of Asia, Social Security is unnecessary.

But, I think that more such unions are happy than not. You hear about the horror stories (abusive husbands, wives gone wild), but probably most are okay.

If I met a thai women that like me and loved me for who I was and she loved me back I would make it very clear how much I would send every month: ZERO. Thats just messed up. Its like you are paying her family for her to be with her, like an escort or something.

I disagree. In many cultures (and originally our own), supporting your parents is an expectation and an honor. However, what I've seen work well is for the Thai lady to send part of her own earnings to her family.

Y'know, for a forum that complains about a lack of relationships, the responses here are suprising.

People prefer to cut their noses off to spite their face.
