I suspect I have AS and I'm wondering, am I the only who feels that kissing is awkward? My first kiss, I bit the girl's nose. My second kiss, I had to be told that kissing means touching lips, not just breathing on one another. I'm in a steady relationship and have been for almost two years but realize that kissing is awkward, especially if we go long periods of time without kissing. It's like there's a voice in my head, constantly wanting to know what to do next and I honestly don't know the answer. So, am I just a weirdo who needs to Google a kissing tutorial or is this fairly common?

(Oh, and don't even get me started on how awkward I find sex.....)

It depends on your definition of "kiss". I've been told I'm a pretty good french kisser - the deep, passionate kind where your lips are on the other person's lips and both your tongues are touching. When I did my first make-out kiss, I also explored that girl's mouth with my tongue, her teeth and all.

I can do pecks, no problem! But I can't french kiss to save my life! Most of the time, my brain won't shut up!

I suspect I have AS too and most definately I find kissing very awkward and have pretty much managed to avoid it all this time - I'm 27 - even though I was in a long term relationship. my friend tried to give me lessons and explain what to do in great detail but I just never got it hehe. I'm glad I'm not the only one!

Virtual high five! (: My friends have tried to give me lessons and it was a fail. It's weird, though, because I think I like kissing in my head but whenever it comes down to the actual act, I don't get it. Sighhhh.

For my first kiss, I did not realize that the guy was about to kiss me (he had said that he wanted to earlier but I was still completely oblivious) and I did not respond and broke the kiss to ask this awkward question : "how am I supposed to do that ?".

I can't kiss someone first because I do not know how to do it and it takes time for me to follow the movements or realize that I have to do something.

So yes, kissing is incredibly awkward for me and everyone I've met think it's natural to kiss but me.

However, I only have a diagnosis of dyspraxia so it could be related to that.

French kissing to me is awkward. I do not enjoy the sensation of tounges touching, neither the feeling of having someone elses saliva mixed into mine. Just a regular kiss is nice, even a juicy one. No making out tho.

I never really got to kiss much before with ex boyfriends.
They more JUST wanted me for sex and had no interest in doing what I wanted.

With the current boyf I love to kiss. Although making out for long periods of time gets a little dull and uncomfortable.

to me, it's a turn on. Besides sexual penetration, it's probably one of the most physical/psychological ways to connect with your partner.

I could never really figure why anyone would want to suck on anyone else's mouth, to be quite honest.

Oh thank goodness, I thought I was the only one! I hate kissing it is so GROSS!, I can do soft little pecks, but open mouthed "french" kissing is unsanitary and wet and I have no idea how anyone derives any pleasure from that!

I have never done it. But that doesn't seem to be something I would like.

No. It creeps me out and I don't like the feel of it. I always have to wipe it off after my husband kisses me.

I have had moments in the pass where I wanted to do long kisses because I had seen in it Benny & Joon and wanted to try it. I had seen it in other movies too and wanted to copy it.

But I never liked french kissing so I never tried it.

It might just be the person you are with who is making it awkward. My first kiss/kisses with my first GF were very awkward -- everyone else after that, it felt very natural.

Sigh - thinking of those kisses and how special they were. IMHO, the first time you kiss someone (deep kiss) and the first time you make love/have sex are very special, magical moments. Makes me miss the variety sometimes ;)
