Live with my parents, scared of other people, don't really know anyone I'd be interested in, not even interested in dating.

Because I have mental illness and I am psychologically and physically vulnerable. My brain is pretty messed up and I don't know how to fix it. I am also suffering from depression, extreme paranoia and irrational fear of society and of interaction with others.

Because I don't spend my time focusing on relationships. In other words, I don't give a damn.

Because I haven't cut myself in half yet.

No wait.

Because I have standards.

Really. There's something about having one body builder boyfriend toss me around the room a few times because I dared to bug him about cleaning out his cat box - he was torturing his cat by keeping him locked in a carrier for peeing on his bed, and the cat box hadn't been cleaned in at least a week or two (he later scoffed when I told him he assaulted me - it wasn't assault in his mind because he never hit me 8O ), another pulling a knife because I dared to go to the park with friends against his wishes (I managed to teach this one that pulling a knife on me should have included stabbing me - he ended up more afraid of me than I was of him), another that got way too clingy while still being married yet estranged with his third wife, another requiring me to tell him I loved him or he would go off with another girl he just met, and another that griped about how I cut my f*****g meat and wouldn't answer the phone when the caller ID said it was a telemarketer.

I win at the jackass lottery.

Oh, and then there's the one guy I was considering as a boyfriend until we had our first date, and first night of sex, follow by a marriage proposal so that he could cover me on his insurance. I also met one of his alter personalities (as in, full-on multiple personality disorder). WTF, man?

Haven't met the right woman yet. I am very shy around women, and have made it to 29 without a girlfriend. I am hoping one day there will be someone for me who understands me.

Why not answer the phone? These people are just trying to earn money, and you can waste their time while not making them any money. Usually, I enjoy picking up the phone if it's one with an insecure attitude, and striking an absurd conversation. They'll try to ask who you are, and you can answer truthfully - but you don't have to. Sometimes, responding in a way they don't expect frightens them. Immediate familiarity, odd names, and all of that delivered in a very cool tone. Once, a friend of mine did even better. He called a restaurant with a bad magnet pun and magnet theme, and said there was a magnet in his stomach after eating there. We also called pizza stores and pretended to be other, fictional pizza stores asking why they had ordered pizzas with us. Only when we had finished the conversation did we find out that Corleone Pizza actually existed.

I think offering them a fictional product in return is a nice idea for the next call I pick up.

Another fun one - I've been single all but maybe a collect total of 3 months of my life - one month was 'legit' relationship, the other two still seemed more like dedicated 'dating'.

In a lot of ways it feels like it'd be expected of me to be this ready made just-add-water Soccer Dad In A Box (TM). How someone acausally gets from point A to point B I have no idea. Maybe there's an Iphone app out now to fix that?
