>Loving & Cheating
Just watched this on Hulu, so it's free. It's short, just over an hour.
Personally, I don't dig how near the beginning it paints men as the untrustworthy ones, as if there were a great disparity between men & women's fidelity. I don't buy that at all.
Since a lot of it relies on some interviews with just random folks, it also spews out quite a bit of dogmatic stuff, but then that's kinda par for the course. To me it's kinda nonsense, but then I'm not very traditional...
On the other hand, there were some pretty cool moments... One girl was honest about stringing guys along, which is definitely something pertinent to my experiences. I wish they'd have gone into more detail there. But then, the movie lacks details on pretty much everything.
Also, it made a point to give contrasting views. Not much commentary, just peoples' views. There's some solid merit, there, even if it's limited to just some yokels.
The section on polyamory & swinging was pretty cool.
The minister dude's section at the end about the problem with 'goal oriented sex' was a pretty useful perspective.... It has broader implications, too, imo.
And it had Seattle's own Dan Savage! Good stuff from him, as usual.
Still I'm curious what others thought.
