Well, here is a fellow who looks as if he might be able to pass for a nerd

No hover hands, though.

I don't see it that way, a lot of guys who eat good are really good craftsman, my great granddad was a machinist for 44 years straight, and could make hot rods from junk yard salvage.

Quite interesting that the american nerd stereotype also is anti-semitic. Curly hair shown as unattractive to women.

Huh? I've never heard of curly hair being more prevalent among semites than non-semites.

Yes, but that nerd character is based on an old stereotype of a socially inept jew. Obesity and curly hair.

Well, okay. You may be right. Walter is fat and has curly hair. Walter being Jewish didn't come to my mind, but, now that I think of it, Walter does probably look more like some of the Jewish people that I have known than like non-Jewish people that I have known.

A lot of non-Jewish people have curly hair.

I think that the stereotype of curls=Jewish only works if you live in an area full of Scandinavian or German people, usually they have very thin hair so practically all of them have it very straight, and if they never see people with curly hair because all of their neighbours grandparents came from Germany or Denmark, well, then it has sense if they think that "curly" hair is kind of exotic. But there are a lot of countries in Europe with non-jewish inhabitants that have curly hair. It's more common to find thick curly hair in sunny places though, it is related to sunstroke prevention I suppose.

By the way, the chick with whom Walter is smooching is an Israeli. Jews are portrayed on both ends of the spectrum, there.
