Nope, I'm moving to a basement apartment in a student building in midtown.

It seems as if you'll have to pay less rent. That's one positive I see from this. Another is that you have access to students. Being in an academic environment could be inspiring.

The rent is more, but it's not bad. I don't know if you read my other posts about my possible pregnancy which I am patiently waiting to have tested. I'm a bit in limbo right now.

Nope...can't say that I have.

When will you be tested--or will you take a drugstore test?

You mean....they don't consider testing for pregnancy a "high priority" type of thing? That's weird.

Negative on the home test, but I have an iud so that could be why. I have to get a blood test. Called my doctor yesterday and spoke to the intake clerk, but no one has called back yet. The father couldn't care less.

Ann....what makes you think you're pregnant?

You have an IUD. Could that cause you to not have a period?

Also: you said once you were born in 1970. Maybe your periods are getting irregular?

It's all in the Women's Discussion forum. No one needs to hear that stuff in The Bar. lol But I have all the symptoms. I'm not sure if I am or not and it's a bit stressful waiting to find out.

Sorry, Ann.

I could understand your discomfiture.

Just give me a swift kick in the butt!

Seriously......isn't there a way you could get a private appointment?

Oh no . . . there is no private health care in Canada. You just have to breathe deeply and be patient.

Would this be your first child if it turns out you're pregnant?

Yes, this would be my first pregnancy. At 44 with a 56 year old father. A totally high risk pregnancy.

It's definitely not inevitable that there would be any problems.

I know a 53 year old woman who had twins. Both came out fine.

I sent you a PM.

Let's have some "good old-time rock and roll" now!

I just bought in a nice strobe light--a much needed commodity here.

Shaded: ".....Can I have a Scotch and water? Hold the Scotch?"
Tender: "....Okay...."
Shaded: "Ask me a random question. You'll get a tip."
Tender: "Alright..... What's your perfect crime?"
Shaded: "Oh what's my perfect crime? I break into Tiffany's. Do I go after the vault? Tch! No.
I go for the chandelier; it's priceless. As I am taking it down, a woman catches me. She tells me to stop.
It's her father's business. She's Tiffany. I say no. We make love all night. In the morning the cops come
and I escape in one of their uniforms. I tell her to meet me in Mexico but I go to Canada."

Tender: "Why?"

Shaded: "I don't trust her. Besides, I love the cold. Thirty years later I get a postcard. I have a son.
And he's the Chief of Police. This is where the story gets interesting: I tell Tiffany to meet me in Paris
by the Trocadero. She's been waiting for me all these years. She's never taken another lover. I don't
care. I don't show up. I go to Berlin."

Tender: "......Why??"

Shaded: "That's where I stashed the chandelier....."

How much of a tip did you leave the bartender?

I gave him $15.

10 for listening, and 5 for having a good hairstyle.
