I realize I was being hypocritical when I talked about someone "tricking me" into a relationship as a result of my AS.

At the time I did not fully comprehend nor acknowledge how severe of a disability Asperger's Syndrome is. I was clearly being naive by not fully believing in mental disabilities in high intelligence individuals.

I'm sorry for that, I never intended to sound hypocritical.

True. I just did not have the full picture of these "dating leagues".

I clearly see I could happen to "fool" somebody into a relationship with me burdening them with my AS. I just happened to view it as a personality trait, not as the (social) disability that it in fact is.

I think I saw it this way because I found it extremely insulting that my personality is a disability. Much worse than being over weight, not being tall enough, or any of those other kinds of visible possible "drawbacks".

But intellectual disabilities (i.e. low IQ) are equally invisible but they are clearly huge drawbacks too. I see there is no difference.

It's OK. You didn't hurt anybody by holding your previous view.

What made you come to this new realization?

Autism is different for everyone. I do appreciate your apology, though. 8)
