Can you give me some reasons why people lose interest in someone they once 'fancied'?

- They aren't who they thought they were.
- They fancied an "idea" and not the person/reality sets in.
- Either person changes.

In ten years you will be very different, you will have learnt new things and created new opinions. Then your behaviour will change. Some relationships dont survive this.

-They lose hope because their crush does not respond.
- Either person changes.

A person who goes off you as they get to know you better may do so for oodles of reasons, as they find through spending more time with you that:

- you don't have much in common
- you are racist, sexist, homophobic, unspeakably rude to sales clerks/waitstaff/etc
- you're chronically late, lost disorganized, prone to throwing huge hissy fits that are way out of proportion to [whatever went wrong]
- you are mean to your friends/mom/sibling/homeless people/etc
- you drink way, way too much way, way too early in the AM on weekdays
