Prince always had the best love songs. A mix of charm and sensuality and fun, oh and unabashed Lust. lol.
One of his first big singles. 1978.
I ain't got no money I ain't like those other guys you hang around And it's kinda funny But they always seem to let you down And I get discouraged 'cause I never see you anymore And I need your love, babe yeah That's all I'm living for, yeah I didn't wanna pressure you, baby But all I ever wanted to do I wanna be your lover I wanna be the only one that makes you come running I wanna be your lover I wanna turn you on, turn you out, all night long, make you shout Oh, lover! Yeah I wanna be the only one you come for I wanna be your brother I wanna be your mother and your sister, too There ain't no other That can do the things that I'll do to you And I get discouraged 'cause you treat me just like a child And they say I'm so shy, yeah But with you I just go wild! I didn't wanna pressure you, baby. No! But all I ever wanted to do I wanna be your lover I wanna be the only one that makes you come running I wanna be your lover I wanna turn you on, turn you out, all night long make you shout Oh, lover! Yeah I wanna be the only one you come for, yeah

Love is the answer, at least for most of the questions in my heart Like why are we here? And where do we go? And how come it's so hard? It's not always easy and Sometimes life can be deceiving I'll tell you one thing, it's always better when we're together

There's just too much that time cannot erase When you cried, I'd wipe away all of your tears When you'd scream, I'd fight away all of your fears And I held your hand through all of these years But you still have all of me
Evanescence - My Immortal (Acoustic by Dave Winkler)
with love

Simply one of the best love songs written. I like it. I'm starting to appreciate just how good a songwriter he is.
Anyone who ever held you Would tell you the way I'm feeling Anyone who ever wanted you Would try to tell you what I feel inside The only thing I ever wanted Was the feeling that you ain't faking The only one you ever thought about Wait a minute can't you see that Too many hearts are broken A lover's promise never came with a maybe So many words are left unspoken The silent voices are driving me crazy After all the pain you caused me Making up could never be your intention You'll never know how much you hurt me Stay, can't you see that I I wanna fall from the stars Straight into your arms I, I feel you I hope you comprehend
's - Written by Mick Hucknall (...fellow countryman, born in Manchester, some of my favorite musicians are mancunians)

Music from an open window Music sudden and fleeting Ordinary music in an ordinary street Why does your heart stop beating?
What can a song do to you? Can it waken a memory sleeping? Can it call back a day when your heart fled away To somebody else's keeping?
What can a song do to you? Can it bring back a spring in December? Can it make with each note such an ache in your throat That you find you can still remember?
For the past is a house full of treasure And the lies buried deep in the store Every smile, every tear, every pleasure And the song is the key to the door.
What can a song do to you? - The Unthanks
Written by Molly Drake (1915-1993), the poet, musician and mother of Nick Drake. Sung by a Northumbrian folk band with Rachel and Betty Unthank.

Can I believe you? Can I ever know your mind? Am I handing you mine? Do we both confide? I see it eat through every word I sow See what you need to Do you doubt it's yours? Now I'm learning the ropes I never get this close I've been wounded before Hasn't let me go It never got less strange Showing anyone just a bare face If I don't - well nothing will change Staying under my weather all day Can I believe you when you say I'm good? I didn't need to when I wished you would Lately I'm wondering too What type of desire I can break When I'm one way with them And one with you Which half is it Of me rearranged?
Can I Believe You? - Fleet Foxes

You belong among the wildflowers You belong in a boat out at sea Sail away and kill off the hours You belong somewhere you feel free Run away, find you a lover Go away somewhere all bright and new I have seen no other Who compares with you You deserve the deepest of cover You belong in that home by and by You belong among the wildflowers You belong somewhere close to me Far away from your trouble and worries You belong somewhere you feel free
Wildflowers - Tom Petty

Should I fall out of love, my fire in the light To chase a feather in the wind Within the glow that weaves a cloak of delight There moves a thread that has no end For many hours and days that pass ever soon The tides have caused the flame to dim At last the arm is straight, the hand to the loom Is this to end or just begin? All of my love, all of my love All of my love to you, now
