I told my brother that I had to leave a gym I was once a member of because there was a member of staff who worked there that I had a crush on.

When I told my brother this he said "well what was she like" and I then said "she was tall and blonde" and my brother said in an amused tone "yeah the opposite to you".

What point do you think my brother was trying to make when he said "the opposite to you"?

Before I attempt to respond I need you to answer two questions.

Do you happened to be short?

And do you happen to have dark colored hair?

Why would having a crush on a staff member make you want to leave?

I think my hair was darker in my teens. But as for now my hair looks brown with golden/light bits but probably mostly brown so you could call it multicoloured hair.

For all I know those lights bits could be gray hairs :(

Your brother reminds me of my brother, who can be a real jerk.

Hello Jamesy. What I'm thinking is that because she is tall and blonde, you are shorter and have darker colored hair. Hope that makes sense, you could always ask him what he was talking about he will probably just tell you the same thing though. Lol

Well...I guess your brother still thinks of you the way you were when you were a teen: dark haired. So he means that "you're short and dark haired".

But you would have to ask him what he meant to be sure.

Its not obvious to me why you would stop going to gym just because you have a crush on an instructor though.

Is there something wrong with not being tall and blonde? some people find it attractive I am the opposite of that as well. He could have just been joking around, not necessarily being a jerk, though its not like people have to have semi-identical appearances to date each other, that would be weird.

Ever heard of 'opposites attract'?

Yeah, hence why I'd think it odd if people thought they could only consider people with a similar appearance for dating.
