and that sucks because I would rather be judged on my achievements (also awesome degree ≠ income)

How much is your salary?

0 thats why i said income does not equal degree. I am currently working in a lab unpaid because i am a postgrad research student. I assumed that when he said income he was referring to the degree

I recall you live with your bf currently?
If yes, then who pays the rent and bills? Your boyfriend?

:shameonyou: If I was a typical woman, I would have rejected you, zero income is a no no.

In dating, the income usually matter more than the degree - and it doesn't feel good to be judged as a wallet. So I don't understand why you envy us.

No actually I do using my student loan. I am actually supporting him while he goes to college (which you cannot get a loan for). So you are incorrect. Also a women would also be attracted to a man studying because it shows ambition and future wealth (although I accept not at your age)

Jumping too assumptions much

I meant women around your age may expect more than someone studying but I don't really know what women are like in your part of the world tbh.

(It's late and I'm on a mobile so forgive my s**t grammar :) )

Nothing to say about the assumption you made?

I agree with Boo that being judged on the size of your wallet, is no less cynical than being judged on looks. I am starting to reach the conclusion that us humans are just as primitive and selfish as all other animal species. It's is quite depressing.

No, just as lovable and sophisticated as all the other animal species.

In many regards. Just not as sophisticated when it comes to partner selection. I admire your optimism though, mine is certainly long gone. I fear once I start making good money in a couple of years, my sekpticism will simply increase towards any interest I get.

Maybe at that point I should start dressing like a poor bloke, to help distinguish between real love and utility based interest.

That will only work if there is a difference.

it may be easier to find when looking that the love that occurs between parent and child, compared to more lustful romance between adults.

Good point. I honestly don't know if there is.
But if there is, hypothetically the chance of attracting the wrong women will decrease quite a bit.
I've been thinking about dressing more like a dork, because I seem to attract shallow girls I have nothing in common with.
