My love life is so nonexistent that I don't even date. Whenever I ask out any girl who I think I might click with, I get told "My boyfriend wouldn't like that.", "I am married.", or "I am too busy." despite how it seems like every other guy does so and it works for them. :( The year is almost over and I have no success story to show for my struggles.

Don’t get discouraged, at least you have the guts to try. Due to my life situation and how far I am behind most people in life, I haven’t had a date since I was 26. I’m 32 now and have given up. Before that one at 26, previous was 20. Keep on trying, don’t be me.

As the Brooklyn Dodgers used to say: "Wait'll Next Year!"

"Next Year" did come to them, eventually.

They won in 1955 in Brooklyn, then won quite a few more as the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Maybe you're like Sandy Koufax. He sucked as a pitcher for a long time before he embarked on a Hall of Fame Career.

I looked him up but I couldn't find anything on him being a bad pitcher that got better later. :(

Do that many people even date? Most people just fall into relationships. Dating is horrible imo.

Interesting suggestion, and one that I can identify with.

I've never been on a date, and I never will do dating. It's just completely unnatural and when it succeeds, people are left with a shallow attachment that easily breaks.

Koufax was sent back to the minors a lot because he was very wild.

Maybe a little like Nolan Ryan. Ryan was quite wild and sometimes ineffective as a young pitcher. I remember Ryan with the Mets. He was only a spot starter, and was seen as somebody with potential who needed a lot of work on things. When he was traded to the Angels, everything came together for him. He still walked many people, though--so he wasn't perfect.

I wish it was that way but I was always told by society I had to date someone first.

Most people have a social life for that to happen.

The more lamenting you do, the less chance you have of success.

We both work in a library. We're probably pretty similar in some ways.

Some woman just said you have nice eyes. Why can't you think about that?

Because that ain't BS.

What's BS is making generalizations, and living off them.

I hear you there. I broke up with my one and only boyfriend back in 2005 and haven't had a date since.
