Nerds have brains and use logic.

Incels (with a capital I) neither use their brains nor their logic.

Unfortunately there is a problem with misogyny in the nerd culture, too. At an anime convention just yesterday a bitter stalker of a woman who does PR cosplay set her car (and 6 other cars) on fire in the parking lot of the hotel she was staying at. So yeah, there are some nerds who hate women still and would probably qualify as incels. That's something nerd culture is going to have to tackle in the era of #MeToo.
