Going Out and Meeting Women

I've always had anxiety issues regarding going out alone to a bar or other such public space and talking with people. I'm interested in meeting women, but making friends with guys would be cool too. Do any of you have strategies for dealing with this kind of social anxiety, or good environments to meet people?

If you play any tabletop games you might be able to join a few to find someone. If not, you can at least make some new friends!

In a group it is a bit better. But for an autistic person you are probably best off joining hobby groups or autistic groups or gaining employment and trying to find people to date that way.

Yes, this is mostly theoretical at the moment. I'm scrambling to finish my master's thesis in addition to work, so stressing myself out further would be detrimental.

It is hard to believe right now I am sure, but once you have established your career it will be easier for you to meet women.
