Do you believe sites like AspieAffection can become a success? Do you generally believe an Aspie-only dating site has potential for success?

I never tried one before but I am a bit sceptic about it myself. I fear non-aspies with wrong intentions could register (there is not the slightest control about who registers and what their true intentions are) and also if you look at AA and other such sites, the members are scattered across the globe while dating requires the members to be grouped per area somewhat. I fear that there are not enough candidates yet to form a dating site per area, and with members scattered across the globe it is not easy to start building a romance.

I think aspie-only nights out would be a better idea for socialising and dating amongst aspies. If psychologists would hand out "aspie passes" or so and there'd be special social events for aspies only, those would be rather good waterproof events for meeting fellow aspies.

What are your views about aspie-only dating sites?

I feel that they can work, but one or both people involved in any resulting relationship would have to be flexible as to the location issue.

Can't be any worse than all NT dating sites.

Exactly. I am a rather flexible person being a traveller anyway, moving from place to place, so I would not mind if the girl I fall in love with lives somewhere far away (heck, my latest crushes were both Australian ladies :o). But for most people the distance would be an issue...

Yeah, tell me about it. I have to travel at least 300 miles to find *any* Aspie who is single. Finding one who has the same interests and beliefs as me would require traveling even further.

You can delete it, if it's the last one

(which it isn't NOW).

Dating sites are pointless.

I think it's a very good idea, although it's never going to be more than a tiny market niche.

The location issue will be a problem, but there's no way around that.

I have to do a long-distance relationship if I am to be with another Aspie, because there aren't any Aspie women where I am.

Most male Aspies are single. Very few females are single and looking. They are usually either (a) already in a relationship, or (b) not wanting one.
