When you don't have a girlfriend you feel kinda down and depressed (and want to get in on the "action") but when you have a gf it's like you want to get out of the relationship and be single again.
Its kinda like what Dane Cook said.

they say the grass is always greener on the other side. What you describe is common in a lot of different situations, not just relationships. Although if you feel like that all the time, it's quite possible you're not with the right person.

Yes, I was going to say something similar to Alex.
It does sound like you are not getting together with the right person.
Also I wonder if you need to re-evaluate what you are seeking from a relationship.

You're still pretty young, perhaps you aren't ready for what you might see as a long-term relationship?

Just thought I'd add something that actually answers your question...

The only relationships that I felt the way you are talking about... wanting to get out of them... are the ones I realized I shouldn't be in in the first place.
I used to find it difficult to end those relationships.. one of which lasted about 6 years.

I've tried to be much more careful since.

Grass is always greener on the other side...except when you set it on fire and have no reason why. XD No, I'm kidding...that's a reference. Ignore it if you don't get it.

Nope. In order to have experienced that, I would have had to have had a girlfriend at some point in my life.

Aah, I could do that sir, yeah. Yeah, I could do that, I suppose.
Well, what the thing was I was going to ask him if he'd make me a bit lame in one leg during the middle of the week. You know, something peckable but not leprosy, which is a pain in the ass
