I don't get it , why all teen and young adult girls love so much Edward, the main character in Twilight movie?
Why the main hero of "Angel" series (and main character in Buffy the vampire slayer) never had the same effect on them?

Personally I don't even bother second-guessing why many women fancy particular men. I don't understand it and probably never will.

I couldn't stand Angel... Edward is more appealing as he's more mysterious and he has beautiful eyes.

Angel was hot.
Edward, I wouldn't go for. If I had to choose a favorite Twilight character, it would be Jake or Jasper.
(Haven't seen the movie, so I don't know how they were portrayed there, but read all 4 books.)

it isn't the guy, its the girl. Allow me to explain. The main female character is one the audience can more easily use as an analog thus she is more relatable. They put themselves in her place, with a guy like that fawning over them, protecting them, ect. Thus they get more of a connection with the male lead.

Now I think I have to go and read some hellsing or something to compensate for the fact i responded to a thread involving a movie series with "sparkle vampires"

The only reason I know what it is is because South Park made fun of it...

I think you pretty much nailed it.

My aspie girlfriend loves twilight. Its a good series, although I can't personally see why women are so fascinated by edward.

Most girls I remember from high school liked the other one... "Spike" or something...played by James Marsters... I'm not sure exactly, didn't watch it, just had to hear about it all the time.
