Does anybody else here despise alcohol?

People I worked with at the fast food place used to have such a shocked look on their faces when I told them I have never been piss-ass drunk. Never will be either. Nothing against alcohol per se, just don't see the appeal in getting so wasted you lose control of your senses, your environment, what happens to you, etc.

Also beer seems to give me sore joints. Around the time when my doctor diagnosed me with CFS, I mentioned this to him and he said alot of people with CFS are more sensitive to alcohol than others. I just don't drink it much anymore. I might occasionally have a quarter glass of red wine if I'm having a nice dinner at someone's house but that is a rare occasion. Even that little I'm sensitive to - I get quite a buzz from a tiny amount.

I am super-extra sensitive to marijuana as well. I only need a crumb of brownie or cookie to help me fall asleep (not even every night either, just on the nights where I feel my insomnia is going to be bad)

P.S. I have my medical marijuana prescription so I'm all legal :D

I tried to get drunk once just to see what it was like, I didn't make it pass the first sip... I kept gagging and having those vomit reflexes.

This has made me conclude that the vast majority of the people on this planet are sheeple that easily submit to peer pressure.

They are, sadly. Society tries to make "social" drinking seem sacred. Many people feel obligated to drink. It makes no sense at all and is the sole reason such a toxic substance and perhaps a few more are still in circulation.

KInda, I do drink it when I'm feeling down and don't care.

I hate how it seems that everyone my age and teens drink. Whenever there is a party or something, they always have photo of them holding a beer or something. I don't like how they drink to get drunk. I don't like how it alters you.

I agree with what someone else said. I don't hate it, I hate it's misuse.
