Yes there are quite a few Aspies around Brisbane.

Some of us used to be in the local support group the now renamed ASA at Zillmere.

There are some of us on Facebook too. If you do a google search on this site for "Brisbane" you will find more.

hi Plasticine, i am in brisbane as well.

hi also to millie, emc2, and AspergerCH75.

you might also like to try posting here (click) and here (click).

the SE QLD thread that i made has had a few views but not a lot in the way of responses. being a bit anxious/reluctant about the prospect of meeting any fellow WP'ers kind of goes with the territory i think (regarding having AS). in hindsight of generating the SE QLD meet thread; the consensus here is likely that the idea of meeting others on the spectrum holds a little more appeal than actually meeting others on the spectrum... maybe it was a bit ambitious. we can only try.

in saying that, it might be a better idea for you to visit the AQ website (click) and Tony Attwood's links page (click), they may be able to help specifically with teenage/adolescent support/social groups for AS and related.

oh, and i am on the south side.

On Facebook, there's one woman I am FB friends with who's about your age.

If you want to PM me, I could add you to my FB or give you her details, also we have a lot of Asperger groups on FB, including one with about 300 women and some men.

Apart from that you could add Donna Williams as a friend, you will certainly find that she knows a lot of people on the spectrum, on Facebook.
